Project Overview

This project involved a detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess the structural integrity and fatigue life of an aerospace strut. The methodology included defining complex load cases, such as static weight support, dynamic impact, braking, and steering forces, to simulate real-world operational environments. Material selection focused on high strength-to-weight alloys, with their properties incorporated into the FEA models. The analysis utilized commercial FEA software to predict stress distributions, total deformation, and factors of safety under various scenarios. Critical aspects like fatigue life and damage accumulation were evaluated to ensure long-term durability. This work highlighted the importance of a comprehensive simulation approach for optimizing component design, ensuring both performance and safety across a range of operating conditions and demonstrating capability in structural assessment.
